The People's Coalition; Queer Liberation in Practice

What does our liberation really require? Join The People’s Coalition for a free two-part virtual series as we examine the roots of queer resistance.

Part I: Before Stonewall; Monday, November 9th, 6pm - 7:30pm

Part II: After Stonewall: Tuesday, December 1st, 6pm - 7:30pm

Queer liberation has never been handed to us, it was built by our queer ancestors who refused to trade their freedom to be and to love for someone else's definition of morality or normalcy.

Rooted in the radical organizing tradition of consciousness-raising, we'll share our own experiences and place our stories in conversation with the historical fight for queer liberation. Through historical analysis and group discussion, we'll examine who movements were built for, who was left out, and what pressure pushed organizations towards the status quo.

You'll leave with a deeper connection to America’s expansive lineage of queer revolutionaries, a clearer understanding of what our community needs to reach liberation, and the beginnings of a collective committed to organizing for it.

Note: Attending both sessions is encouraged, but each session offers unique insights on its own
