WHAT STARTED WITH JUST 2

WHAT A DIFFERENCE A GAY MAKES

3500

HAS GROWN TO OVER

PEOPLE PARTICIPATING

TQNC was started by just two people, who believe deeply that LGBTQIA+ people deserve to safely exist as our whole selves, including in community and civic spaces.

We didn’t focus on how to raise the money to support our mission. We stayed scrappy, payed for everything out of our own pockets, and volunteered our asses off.

And our drive has delivered.

We’ll be real, we’re not fundraising experts.

In just our first 2 years, we’ve hosted & organized over 127 events. We’ve advocated community-led priorities to 15+ elected officials from city to state to federal. We’ve created opportunities for over 175 local queer artists and performers. We’ve collaborated with over 100 community orgs & venues.

And what started with just two people has grown to well over 3,500 people participating.

And now, we need your support to keep this all going.

Community is our foundation.

For our first 7 months, we hosted “TQNC Community Connection” events around the city, and we listened. We heard about queer triumphs and pain, about times our community couldn’t participate safely in public life, and about what’s missing in Boston.

The community told us what they needed, and we took action, crystalizing our mission to foster queer joy, advocacy, and arts. We’ve organized queer events & spaces; established our TQNC Queer Advocacy Group and launched new Action Collectives fighting for trans shelter, right to counsel for tenants facing eviction, and more queer youth community spaces; and we created performance and vending opportunities for hundreds of queer artists.

And along the way, we found more and more like-minded people. People who share our commitment to filling the gaps for our Greater Boston LGBTQIA+ community.

We grew our leadership team to 16 people, intentionally encompassing a diverse range of lived experience and identities across our whole LGBTQIA+ community, as well as varied intersectional identities. The letters aren’t just a symbol, our leadership and our participants are truly all over the rainbow spectrum.

Now, we need your help to keep going.

We’re 2 years in, and we’ve accomplished so much, and we’re not slowing down. This summer and fall we’re keeping up our established events offerings, while expanding our collaborations to uplift and connect even more of our Boston LGBTQIA+ community.

We’ve proudly stayed scrappy with our budget. And we’re growing our volunteer base every day, and grateful for everyone’s help.

But the reality is, we need more than just help, we need your financial support as well to make this sustainable for years to come.
