The People's Coalition; Activism Workshop
Join The People’s Coalition for an activism workshop designed to confront our historical roots and the utilization of economic and social justice liberation movements to justify American exploitation both at home and abroad.
For decades, queer activism has fought for rights within the U.S, but true liberation requires a global lens.
To truly support the most marginalized, we must move beyond identity-specific activism to challenge international power structures and address the footprint of domestic capitalism and build broader, intersectional coalitions across different liberation movements.
This session moves beyond "band-aid" solutions to tackle the root causes of injustice. We will examine the mechanics of domestic capitalism and how it functions today on the world stage.
Open to all—no prior organizing experience is needed.
Let’s build a coalition that leaves no one behind.
Note: lunch will be provided

Rooted in Love; PRIDE Healing Circle for Parents & Families of LGBTQ Youth
These days, it may feel like you're carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders—especially as global politics and policies seem determined to diminish our presence. But together, we hold the power to change this. Join us in this welcoming intergenerational space dedicated to trans, queer, and LGBTQIA2+ community members. Through solidarity and understanding, we can transform shared experiences into inspiring insights, fostering resilience and collective strength. Let's unite to challenge the forces trying to erase us and create a future rooted in support, reflection, and empowerment.
A healing circle is a powerful and transformative group process, rooted in Indigenous traditions, where individuals come together to share their experiences, build meaningful connections, and embark on a collective journey of healing. It provides a safe and welcoming space for open dialogue, emotional expression, and the sharing of collective wisdom, all of which significantly enhance personal growth and community well-being.
Circle Structure:
Participants sit in a circle signifies continuous self care and the evolving nature of collective healing
We use a Talking Piece: An object (like a stone, feather or Crystal) is passed around, allowing only the person holding it to speak, ensuring everyone has a chance to share without interruption.
Active Listening: We ask you to remain present during as participants are sharing.
Confidentiality: What's shared here stays here, be a vault.
Shared Responsibility: We encourage you to support each other and contribute to the collective healing process.
Focus on Connection and Belonging: We aim to build strong relationships and foster community.
Community Altar:
We will have a community altar as a part of this community session. Community altars serve as a space for remembrance, collective grieving, and healing. You are welcome to bring an item to add to the altar.
The Healing Circle is Thursday June 25th from 6:00pm-8:00 pm on 930 Massachusetts Ave. Cambridge
We will email folks the day before the event with a Zoom link for those joining us virtually. For questions, contact fitness4allbodies@gmail.com.

in proud partnership with Sir Doula and South Shore Family Health Collaborative
Join us for an intimate, expansive conversation with Jess Baker (Sir Doula) and trans sex therapist Jordon Anderson. We’re moving beyond the clinical and getting into the heart of gender-affirming sex, birth, and the beautiful, messy evolution of queer relationships.
The Agenda:
- How we envision and manifest our families on our own terms
- Navigating the shifts in intimacy, desire, and connection that come with the journey to parenthood
- Guidance on perinatal care, the "childbirth fast course," and postpartum care—tailored specifically for our community’s bodies and spirits
- Real talk on the available routes and resources in family planning
Whether you’re just starting to wonder "what if," or you’re already deep in the glow (and the grind), come settle in for a night of wisdom, connection, and the radical act of dreaming our futures into existence.
Making the Ask: Fundraising Workshop
Fundraising can bring up a lot of different emotions– we’re socialized under capitalism to think that talking about money is rude or shameful. But when we’re building movements for justice, inviting our friends to help grow those movements with their time AND money can be liberating.
We invite you to participate in a Making the Ask workshop with facilitator Kelly Baker on Thursday, May 7 from 6-7pm ET to develop and practice your fundraising skills.
In this one-hour interactive workshop, we will discuss preconceptions about fundraising, develop a donor prospect list, and learn how to make a compelling fundraising ask. The goal is for you to leave feeling more confident and ready to make some asks!
About the Facilitator: Kelly Baker (she/her) is a consultant with over a decade of fundraising and facilitation experience. She has consulted with a wide variety of social justice organizations working at the local and national level, including Worcester Youth Cooperatives, OutstandingLife, Art.coop, and Pa’lante Restorative Justice. She is a facilitator and curriculum development lead with Resource Organizing Project, an organization focused on building the field of grassroots fundraisers in New England. Born and raised in Boston, Kelly now calls Somerville home. Learn more about her work here.

Why This Space Exists: Bi+ spaces are already rare. BIPOC-centered bi+ spaces are rarer. Bi the Mic exists to intentionally center those whose voices are too often spoken over, within queer communities and beyond. The audience’s role is to listen, celebrate, and hold the room with care.

Reading is Resistance: April In-Person Book Club & Community Hang
Reading is Resistance: A TQNC Book Club & Community Hang
In times like these, stories are our refuge, our resistance, and our roadmap to a better future. Join facilitator Kimberly Rhoten for Reading is Resistance, a monthly book club and community gathering designed to nourish, inspire, and empower our LGBTQIA2S+ community.
Each month, we’ll read books that challenge injustice, celebrate queer joy, and deepen our understanding of the world and each other.
*PLEASE NOTE: You do NOT have to read the book to join. This isn’t just a book club—it’s a space for connection. Come for the books, stay for the conversation, and build relationships with fellow queer neighbors who believe in the power of literature as activism.
Where? in person! All She Wrote Book, 75 Washington St. Somerville, MA 02143
When? Wednesday, April 8 from 6-8PM
What are we reading? We’ll choose together! Books that support us in these times—whether that means radical resistance, queer joy, or both.

Queering the Room: Fundraising Planning Session
☎️ Call for Community: Queering the Room
TQNC is looking for passionate community members to join our Fundraising Planning Session, a new monthly space dedicated to dreaming up and sustaining the future of our organization.
📣 Our goal is simple: to keep providing the queer spaces and programming our community relies on. To do that, we need to build together. These are open, drop-in sessions where everyone has something to contribute—you do not need a specific skillset or prior knowledge of fundraising to join. We learn and grow in community. 🌱
🌈 How You Can Help: These sessions are collaborative and action-oriented. We’ll be working together on:
💸 Crowdfunding: Creative ways to mobilize community support.
📄 Grants: Identifying opportunities to tell our story.
🔗 Prospecting: Brainstorming new relationships and bridges.
🤝 Sponsorship: Engaging with local businesses and partners.
💡 The Vision: We are meeting to build a structured development plan for the year. Our focus is on creating reliable funding, deeper community ties, and a clear, sustainable process for volunteers (including monthly check-ins!).
Note: This is a drop-in space! No long-term commitment is required—just bring your passion and your perspective.
Your contribution ensures TQNC remains a vital resource for our community. 🍀💚

Sew Gay Club
SEW GAY CLUB
Join TQNC’s monthly sewing skillshare! Whether you’ve never used a sewing machine or you’re an experienced customer, let’s craft together in a space centering LGBTQIA+ voices and experiences.
What to Expect:
We’ll kick off the gathering with a brief tutorial on using a sewing machine and follow with open time to practice, work on projects, and mingle. Bring that top you’ve been meaning to crop or those pants you’ve been meaning to hem. Bring your favorite piece of clothing that needs to be patched up or altered, or the elaborate halloween costume you’ve been working on. Or come with nothing at all but excitement to learn a new skill!
We will provide basic machines and supplies for attendees. Please note that you may not be guaranteed your own machine to use due to limited supplies, and you may be partnered with a sewing buddy. (If you have your own machine, feel free to bring it.)
A few experienced sewing “guides” will be present to teach and answer questions.
All are welcome, regardless of skill level, experience, or identity.
PLEASE NOTE: SPACE IS LIMITED
***You are encouraged but not required to RSVP for this event! Walk-ins are welcome, even if you are waitlisted, though please note that you will likely be sharing a sewing machine if we reach capacity.
NEED TO CANCEL?
If you need any additional help with this program or registration, please reach out to us by email at medford@minlib.net or by phone at 781-395-7950.
NEED TO CANCEL?
When someone does not show up for a program they are registered for, they are taking away an opportunity for another member of the community. Patrons who are registered for an event they cannot attend are asked to cancel their registration at least 24 hours in advance. Failure to show up for programs two (2) times without notice will be grounds for being wait-listed for 90 days. Patrons who arrive 10 minutes or more after the program start time will be considered no-shows. They may be denied access after that time, and their spot may be given away to people on the waiting list.
